Children First is an accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre and Infant and Child Development Program specializing in services for families with children from birth to age six who have developmental and/or mental health challenges.

Professionals We Employ:

Administrative Assistants

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a Community College Office Administration program, and minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an administrative assistant.

Resource Consultants

Minimum Qualifications:

B.A. in social service or education field and/or community college diploma (ECE, CYC), previous experience working with children from birth to age six with developmental delays and psychosocial challenges. The position’s duties are carried out in the early childhood settings with some time spent in the office.

Social Workers

Minimum Qualifications:
M.S.W., registered or eligible for registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

Psychologists

Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. in clinical, developmental or child clinical psychology from a recognized program, registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Occupational Therapists

Minimum Qualifications:

M.O.T. or equivalent, CAOT Certification, registered or eligible for registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.

Speech-Language Pathologists

Minimum Qualifications:

Masters degree, registered or eligible for registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.

Child Life Specialist

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful completion of Child Life Certification exam through the Association of Child Life Professionals and Certified Child Life Specialists Credentials.

Child & Family Consultants

Minimum Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education, Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care, or Bachelor of Social Work (or related health, education, or social service field), with experience working with children from birth to age six in community, caregiver home, and early childhood settings.
